If you are not sure who you owe money to then obtain a copy of your credit file. There are three major credit reporting agencies where you can obtain a copy of your credit files as it appears in each of these different agencies. You should obtain all three because some information may be reported in one and not on another. Also check for the accuracy of any information once you have received their reports and challenge, in writing, any items being mis-reported in your file. (i.e. debts that you repaid but are showing as open balances) The following links will take you to each of these respective agencies web sites, where you can either request a copy of your report online or call them by phone.
